What is NVOCC?

NVOCC — Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier — is a company that acts as a shipping carrier to shippers by issuing its own House Bills of Lading, but does not own or operate the vessels it uses. NVOCCs contract with actual ocean carriers (shipping lines) for space, then resell that space to individual shippers, often consolidating multiple small shipments into one container (LCL).

NVOCC in UAE

NVOCCs are heavily active in Jebel Ali, where Dubai's position as a transshipment hub creates massive demand for cargo consolidation services for smaller UAE importers and exporters.
